Sky Fairchild-Waller is a performance-based artist living and working in Toronto. Originally from Victoria, British Columbia, Sky attended the Professional Ballet Program at the National Ballet School of Canada before receiving a BFA in Dance and BA in Cultural Studies from York University.
During the past fifteen years he has created works seen in Canada, the United States, England, and Italy, with credits including the 2009 Canada Summer Games, the Art Gallery of York University, Gallery 1313, the Lab Cab Festival, Public Office, Sala Pinacoteca, and the Toronto Centre for the Arts. He has also performed works seen in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, with credits including the Art Gallery of Ontario, Bravo!, the Canadian Opera Company, La Compañia de Danza Isadora, the 7a*11d International Festival of Performance Art, the National Ballet of Canada, and Scotiabank Nuit Blanche.
His creative and scholarly work has received support from the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation, Human Resources & Skills Development Canada, the Leon & Thea Koerner Foundation, the Miller Thomson Foundation, the Vancouver Foundation, York University, and the Royal Bank of Canada. It has also been featured by Border Crossings, CBC, the Existere Journal of Arts and Literature, Mobius, Now Magazine, the Toronto Star, TSN, and USA Today.
