Sky Fairchild-Waller is a performance-based artist originally from Victoria, British Columbia. A former student of the National Ballet School of Canada, Sky received his BFA in Dance and BA in Cultural Studies from York University in Toronto.
During the past fifteen years he has created performance works seen in Canada, the United States, and England, with credits including the 2009 Canada Summer Games, the Art Gallery of York University, Gallery 1313, the Lab Cab Festival, the Toronto Fringe Festival, and Toronto Alternative Fashion Week. He has also performed works seen in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, with credits including the Art Gallery of Ontario, Bravo!, the Canadian Opera Company, the International Festival of Performance Art, and the National Ballet of Canada.
His creative and scholarly work has received support from the Leon & Thea Koerner Foundation, the Miller Thomson Foundation, the Vancouver Foundation, and the Royal Bank of Canada, and has been featured by Border Crossings, CBC, the Existere Journal of Arts and Literature, Now Magazine, the Toronto Star, and USA Today.
